I was born in rural Kentucky, where I spent my formative
years. An early interest in cartoons and animation led me to explore
cartooning on my own. As I grew older and began to see more movies, I developed an interest in the special effects that made them seem
so realistic.
After high school, I chose to attend Purdue University, where
I earned a degree in Computer Graphics Technology.
I focused on character animation, although during the course of my education I was exposed to a wide set
of skills relating to the production of CGI.
After graduation, I decided that it would only help to learn more about animation, so I enrolled in AnimationMentor.com. My progress through the program can be traced on my AnimationMentor.com blog.
I am interested in animation of all kinds. My other interests
include film, folklore, and all forms of storytelling. When I'm
not in front of a computer, I can usually be found playing music,
writing, drawing, or catching up on the latest movies and animation.
While finishing school, I spent a year teaching English in Japan, where I started to produce the video podcast JapanicTV. I've returned, but the podcast is still in production. I'm currently on a full time job search and am looking forward to starting my career as a professional animator.
